Mrs. Bucket

Back in March or April Samara auditioned for a part in the school musical. Deep down I was hoping she wouldn't make the cut because we are too busy, and she especially was too busy! For the month of May they practiced until 5:30 three nights a week. On Tuesday nights we went from the practice, to soccer then to music lessons and back home by 8:00pm. Supper was optional! The play was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - the Junior version. Samara had the honor of playing and singing as Mrs. Bucket, the mom of Charlie. She was also supposed to dress like a poor woman, so I was glad I hung on to those old clothes I wore in the 90's! She did a super job and sang "Cheer up Charlie" as beautiful as you ever heard it sung before!! ! I was taking pictures and videoing her parts ... when just as she started her solo part ... my memory card was full. Seriously. I forgot to erase the data after I made sure I downloaded the pics and videos onto the computer right before the play. So, you'll have to search you tube for the song if you want to hear it (just not quite the same)! One of her best friends was an Oompa Loompa. I should have checked the book, because I don't really know how to spell that! For young kids they did a marvelous job and it was one of those proud parent moments!
