Grade 2 Field Trip

Last week Keithan had the best Grade 2 field trip ever, at least in this mom's opinion! They visited Fort George Buckingham House near Elk Point on the North Saskatchewan River. If you even live remotely close to there and have kids in elementary school you must convince your kid's teacher to go. It was just that fun! I have gone before with the kids when they were quite young, but it wasn't as much fun as having the guided school tour. It is the historical site of two big trading posts; Hudson's Bay Company and Northwest Trading Company. You might want to review your Canadian social studies class material! Anyway, the kids learned a bit about the fur trade and got to play some games that the traders may or may not have played and went on a "real" buffalo hunt (with sock horses they made and paper spears). Grady came along too and had as much fun as everyone else! I'm such an amateur photographer and I apologize for that. SOMEDAY I'm going to take time for photography and editing pictures. Until then .... A peek at Keithan wearing his fur trading shirt Saddle up! Our trusty buffalo hunting guide Ready to charge!
