farming fun ... etc
A quick trip to the farm lead to a few rides in the combine and truck with Dad and two meals in the field. Also included a sleep over and play time with friends ... and a trip to Winners. Lloyd now has a Winners and I'm just so excited about it - can't you tell?!!!! Anyway, we went down on Friday and came back Saturday night so the kids were a little played out! Was a quiet ride back home! Hoping to do it all over again this weekend ... including Winners!

some fast cars ... and bikes
These cars don't mean much to me ... but I thought I'd share some of the photos from the event - fundraiser for military family support services at A&W. The cars were here for the Race the Base event (racing jets on the runway) on the weekend but came to A&W in support of the cause. If you look close, some friendly fellow from Regina let the kids sit in his car! That was a highlight for sure! The weather was perfect and it was a successful event. The photos are not cropped or edited but at least they ended up on the blog!

school is in
School supplies were bought and labeled just in time to get on the bus on August 30th. They left with eager smiles on their faces and came home with tired smiles, but still smiling so that is what counts! Rhett was glad he wasn't going to school yet. Hope he changes his tune in time for next year! School is in full swing now and we have all adjusted to the routine. Well, mostly. It would help if everyone would get up a few minutes earlier and go to bed and hour earlier! Oh, I should note that Keithan had a hair cut in time for his 3rd day at school!

Stewart Reunion 2010
Well, I didn't take many photos at the Stewart Reunion - and the lighting was poor (I'm going with that excuse) so the ones I did take are not the greatest. However (I really like that word in case you haven't noticed), I bought a CD from the professional photographer with over 200 photos on it. I just don't have them in my possession yet! I must note that Phil made it to ALL of the Woods reunion, and only 3 hours of the Stewart reunion! I'm sure it was because the reunion wasn't as fun and exciting!! It was a bad weekend for trying to get away from the A&W - staff wedding, staff baby event and a busy weekend of activities in town - a concert and a race car event. I do have photos of some pretty nice cars I'll have to add on later. Anyway getting back to the reunion, was nice to get to see some people I knew and a whole bunch of people I didn't know! I think there were over 300 people there. In fact there were some people there that I saw twice a week during the skating season and we had no idea we were related! Another thing I noticed is that many people had some sort of tartan apparel, which I now know for the next reunion! Guess I need to get in touch with my Scottish-married roots! Samara liked the haggis, so maybe she does have some Scottish blood in her!

loon lake - take three
These photos are of the final days of our summer at loon lake. The weather was not great here in August - but the lake is still a fun place to be, especially if you have company to do things with. So, if any of you out there want to book in for next year ... let me know!!! The more the merrier! We scored some great sand castle kits at Superstore in the Clearance section so our castles looked pretty impressive! The kids never made it up on skis this year, so that is something to look forward to for next year. I attempted to ski this year, trying to show the kids it wasn't scary. My conclusion was that it is not scary, but not my favorite activity! I even tried my wakeboard - which still looks shiny and new because I haven't used it for almost 8 years! It was a fairly cautious ride!!! Maybe I'll try again next year!
On the home front - it was day three of school and the kids missed the bus. Not a good start!!! It was my fault in a way, because I was making them practice their music and then it was a bit of a panic to get out the door! Evenings are difficult to get them to practice so maybe I'll start setting the alarm a little earlier! Rhett started this year too, and so far so good!!
