Holiday time

The Christmas season has come and gone already. We enjoyed grandpa and grandma's visit and managed to get a lot of activities worked in to a few days. Friday morning we opened a few gifts and then we shared our turkey dinner with the Pearmans and their visitors. The boys were excited about their superhero pajamas with capes from Grandpa and Grandma. Grady wasn't interested in any more presents once he saw his new truck .. or GUCK as he calls it loud and clear! Samara has been busy solving a Nancy Drew mystery with her DS. Auntie Carla made a big hit with the Supermariokart game for the Wii. I think it It might be worn out by the end of the month ... or we really need to invest in re-chargeable batteries for the remotes! On Saturday mom and I managed to make a few purchases in the morning; some good boxing day deals in town! In the afternoon dad and I took the 3 oldest kids to the ski hill for their first time on skis. It went better than I thought it would ... after the first 20 minutes! Grandpa and Grandma from Vermilion joined us for supper after the big ski. Sunday we had company all day - Janelle and her family for lunch and Wimmers for the afternoon and supper - and then went for a little skate after supper. Today grandpa and grandma put a GT racer together that they bought for the kids so we gave that a try this afternoon on the hill behind our house. Grandpa and Grandma left after a quick lunch at A&W and we're missing them already. This week will likely consist of laundry, laundry and more laundry ... getting back into normal routine. I guess today was my birthday but I don't remember how old I am now! It was a quiet day and my treat was to have a nap while Grady was sleeping this afternoon! We have no New Years plans as of yet ... come if you want!

Let go of my Lego!

We had a last minute Spiderman themed birthday party for Rhett. A few weeks ago he decided he wanted a Lightening McQueen themed party so I bought a table cloth, banner, gift bags, etc. Then, this week I decided to order a cake instead of making one ... and they had no more Lightening cake kits. Rhett picked Spiderman instead. When I got home I dug out the Spiderman table cloth and banner from Keithan's party and we were ready for a party! He was excited that the weather didn't keep his friends away ... minus 48 with the windchill! In the end we should have had a Lego themed party ... because most of his gifts were Lego! There should be no end of building and creating for the next while!

special times!

We enjoyed our visit with Agnes and Jenn. They came on Tuesday for supper and the night. Since it was Rhett's birthday on Monday I thought we'd have cupcakes. As it turned out, it was Anges' birthday that day! So we sang to Anges who turned 86 and Rhett who turned 4! The cupcakes were well decorated by the kids ... with Jenn's supervision! There were a few sprinkles spread around the kitchen. June and Ladonne (not sure how it is spelled) also stopped by on Thursday for a few minutes. It was nice to be home ... and not working as I normally would be on Thursday! We are celebrating Rhett's 4th birthday again tomorrow with a few kids coming over for that. I didn't realize he would have so many parties, as Phil's mom and dad also got a cake for him on Sunday when we were down there. All the more icing for him!!!
