another oops!

I wasn't so pleased with my handywork that I wanted to send two of the same pictures, but somehow I messed up!

handy-mandy

I was pleased with this little project! Today I put up some hooks and shelves to make a little dent in the garage mess. Phil hasn't seen it and I wonder how long it will take him to notice! After my garage sale this coming weekend I hope to get Phil's help to take a few things to the dump and then he might actually be able to park in the garage on his side! On another good note the deck might get started this weekend ... but I'm not holding my breath yet!

sprinkler time

Yesterday was almost hot (cold and rainy today). The neigbors had there sprinkler on in the afternoon and Keithan couldn't resist it ... in his Sunday clothes ... and then in his underwear. The water was of course very cold; in his own words "it feels like winter". But, it didn't slow him down any!

samara's goal

Samara would really like to ride a two wheeler and yesterday she had her first chance to try it. Before she tried it she was quite confident she could do it because she has watched her friend Jesse many many times! Well, she admits now it is harder than she thought but she's working on it!

farewell to grandpa and grandma

These pictures are almost a week old now but I'll post them anyway!

someone's tired

Have you ever been too tired to finish your supper?

gandpa and grandma

We had lots of fun with grandpa and grandma. We shopped, played and played some more ... and read a FEW books! The weather was on the horrible side but we had fun anyway. Dad got some projects done for me. After 8 months I now have my curtain rods hung in our bedroom. Thanks dad!

hats off to you

When the warm weather came I brought out the summer hat collection and put the mits and toques away (a few days later I dug the warm clothes out again). Maybe now summer is on its way!

almost beach weather

We worked in a walk to the beach on Monday ... but no one is swimming yet! The ice was off a week or two ago but it still feels like an ice-cube. It is supposed to be 25 above tomorrow, which will be our warmest day so far this year. I'm ready for plus 30! I set up the kiddie pool tonight in preparation! There was frost last night, so maybe we'll have a skating rink in the morning!

we love the workers

Tracy and Willa also stayed with us for a few nights. We had lots of fun ... flying kites, reading stories and more! Rhett especially loved Tracy because every time he asked "what dat?" she had a new answer. However, I missed capturing Tracy on camera so you'll just have to imagine it!

we love auntie carla

Auntie Carla stayed with us for 4 nights. She even slept in Samara's bunk bed. Please come again soon auntie. We miss you.

let's swing

We recently got a swing set for the kids ... which is almost worn out already! I didn't think we'd need one when we live so close to the playground ... but we did and it has been worth it! Rhett could swing for hours I think. He's not too fond of the slide yet.

"samara's kite"

We've had lots of "wind in your hair" days ... the perfect ones for flying a kite. However, we haven't been able to find our kite from last year. I tried to buy a new one at Walmart but they are sold out! So, mom had to improvise. It kind of looked like a magic trick!

new friends

We had a quick trip to Edmonton this weekend and the kids were happy to make some new friends. On Saturday they stayed with Emily and Hanna while I did my errands and got some shopping done. It was wonderful! On Sunday they met some kids their age. When Denver came into meeting Keithan loudly whispered, "that boy's the same size as me"! Samara, Brie and Rikell (I have no idea how the names are spelled) were fast friends. They all go to Kindergarten this fall. Seemed a little strange when I was thinking of buying "school clothes"!
