woods reunion 2010

If you haven't already tired of looking at reunion photos from Angela's blog or on Michelle's facebook album ... here are a few more! It was a great reunion from start to finish, in my opinion. I've looked at the photos and watched the videos a few times since, with lots of good laughs! The kids should have the talent show songs and the Herbert and Fried Ham acts memorized soon! I am wondering if mom and dad ... and their house have recovered. I hope it isn't another 6 years until the next reunion. P.S. my camera was just out of the box ... so some of my pictures are not the best as I was hitting the wrong button half the time ... shutting the camera off instead of taking a picture! Then I would miss the moment! Would be great if someone would set up a group site so we could share the best shots with everyone.

old july news

The summer is more than half over now and I'm starting to feel panicky! Soon I'll have to dig out the school supply list and get started on back to school shopping. July passed quickly - Mellowdale convention, Samara's 8th birthday, a few days at the cabin and then off to the family reunion and that took care of the month. I guess I should mention we had tons of rain earlier in the month ... some of which made it into the basement and also the city sewer system couldn't keep up, so some of that made it into the basement as well. We had our weeping tile fixed and another entrance made into the sump pump, so that seemed to do the trick. We had the side yard dug up and now it looks kind of sad. Just in case we didn't have enough bad luck, my camera died just before Samara's birthday. My neighbor kindly lent me hers for the party, but I have no pictures from the lake or the kids first attempt on water skis.
Anyway, getting back to Samara's party ... it was a perfect day for an outdoor pool party. She was happy with her flip flop cake and was excited to open a few presents: a new DS game, a new Wii game, some clothes, books, games, 2 zhu zhu pets (hamsters) and a "fur real" puppy. As long as the pets stay fake we should be good!

Annual A&W event

Last weekend was the annual Cruisin' the Dub event. Thankfully the rain held off until the last minute. Keithan was happy to be second in the rootbeer chugging contest for his age group! Samara was polishing her skills for the hoola-hoop and also learned to use a yo-yo. Rhett was Rhett. Grady was super tired but made it through the afternoon without a nap.

T- Ball

Keithan and Rhett have been busy playing t-ball on Mondays and Wednesdays and mom has been busy trying to get them there. For the most part they like it .. but the weather hasn't been that cooperative to make it enjoyable to watch. Just to brag a tiny bit ... Keithan has the best throwing arm on the team! And just to humble myself a little bit ... Rhett has to fight to wear his ball glove and makes a scene every time! Oh well, the season is done in 2 weeks. Next year we might try soccer instead!

trip photos continued

It seems like ages ago now ... but here are a few more photos from our Calgary excursion. Carla and I tried to do a little shopping, but it wasn't an easy task. The day at the zoo was much more relaxing, as the kids fit right in there! Michelle and her kids and Angela joined us at the zoo so it was even more fun with 8 kids, 2 moms and 2 aunties! Then Sunday we were on our way home again. An unplanned monumental event was that Grady lost his soother on the first night of the trip. Both Grady and mom felt the pain ... as did a few neighbors in the hotel. But, I did not cave and buy a new one and we survived!
